Western Parkland City Authority chooses Penrith for home base

Penrith’s growing supply of commercial office space has secured a new tenant in the form of the NSW Government agency Western Parkland City Authority (WPCA).
WPCA is responsible for the delivery of the vision for the Western Parkland City which encapsulates Penrith, the Western Sydney Airport and aerotropolis, along with a number of other Western Sydney Councils. The agency will move to a brand new office tower being built in the heart of Penrith City Centre.
The announcement came as the $90 million office development, 50 Belmore Street Penrith, reached a major milestone earlier this month. The main building structure has now been completed and was celebrated by Penrith City Council and NSW Government representatives at a topping out ceremony.
Deputy Mayor of Penrith John Thain and General Manager of Penrith City Council Warwick Winn were in attendance, acknowledging Council’s role in identifying the potential of the land and undertaking an expresion of interest (EOI) to facilitate the provision of more employment opportunities in the city centre. This is one of many new premium office developments for the Penrith CBD and is part of Council's campaign to Revitalise Penrith, which is seeing significant catalytic Council investment in the CBD through the City Park and Soper Place projects.
WPCA Chair Jennifer Westacott was also at the ceremony and expressed her enthusiasm for their future move to Penrith.
“The opportunity to move our office into this fantastic new building in Penrith is one we’re all excited about,” Ms Westacott said.
“Being based in Penrith will ensure we’re fully integrated in the community that we serve, and within easy reach of Bradfield City Centre, the Aerotropolis and Western Sydney International Airport.”
The eight storey building, at over 10,000sqm in size, is located opposite Penrith railway station, and is due to be completed later this year.
