Local residents and visitors to Penrith now have another venue to enjoy after Squinter’s Brewery opened its doors in August.
Council recently approved the Development Application (DA) for the new food and beverage offering at 19 Peachtree Road, Penrith, and the finishing touches are now complete.
Co-owner Matt Goss has been in the craft beer industry for 3 years operating a mobile canning business but identified an opportunity to provide another option for local residents, with Penrith quickly becoming a hub for local microbrewers with Rusty Penny and Casey’s Brewery both setting up shop in the area in recent years.
“We chose to open in Penrith because it’s where we live and we wanted to create a great space for locals and tourists to come try our drinks and have a great time with friends and family without having to drive a long distance from home.” Goss said.
The new facility has been approved to brew, manufacture and package 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and the bar will be open Thursday from 3pm to 9pm, Friday and Saturday from 11am to 10pm, and Sunday from 11am to 8pm with a 30-person capacity Monday to Friday and 53-person capacity outside those days.
There will be 10 Squinter's Brewing Co beers on tap, craft beer, and a resident food truck. There are also plans for live music on Sunday afternoons and the opportunity for local artists to put their work on display.
