Business Connect program provides advice and skills training for local business owners

Local business owners are invited to register with Business Connect - a dedicated and personalised NSW Government program that provides advice, events and resources to help participants start, run, adapt or grow their small businesses.

Business Connect supports NSW businesses as they navigate the challenges of starting, running, adapting and growing their business. Personalised advice and practical information can be provided on a range of business topics to help you achieve business success.

One-to-one business advisory sessions are complemented by a range of events, webinars and resources providing practical insights and business skills development. Business Connect advisors are independent professionals. They have experience running their own business, qualifications in a business-related discipline, and advisory experience.

For locals looking to start a business, Business Connect can help with evaluating an idea and developing a business plan, provide guidance on understanding target customers through market research, assist with creating a business structure, and connect business owners to other support that will get them started and increase the chance of success.

For those already running a business, Business Connect can provide support, advice and practical tips on a range of topics, including business planning, marketing, growing a digital presence and social media, finance and managing cash flow, sales and pricing strategies, digital tools, innovation, cyber security, and selling to government.

Support is also available for businesses affected by a natural disaster, such as the flooding events that impacted the Penrith region in 2021 and 2022, with Business Connect providing guidance on developing a business or recovery plan and working out priorities and next steps. Business Connect can also assist with connecting business owners to other government support and professional services.
