In a triumph for Penrith's tourism landscape, iFLY Indoor Skydiving has clinched a prestigious accolade at the 2023 NSW Tourism Awards.
The facility, renowned for its state-of-the-art indoor skydiving experience, took home the silver award in the Tourist Attractions category in a fiercely competitive field, marking a momentous achievement for both iFLY and the Penrith region.
In a recent statement, iFLY were thrilled to have won the silver award and were honoured to be recognised. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of our incredible team who make iFLY an unforgettable experience for visitors.”
Penrith is home to a diverse mix of experiences and attractions, with a reputation as NSW's Adventure Capital. In 2022, Penrith welcomed over 1.6 million visitors to the city, and the visitor economy contributed $367 million to the local economy.
When the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport opens in 2026, Penrith's visitor economy is well-placed to grow and welcome even more visitors to experience all that Penrith has to offer. An influx of tourists translates to increased foot traffic for local businesses, from eateries to accommodation providers, creating a ripple effect that stimulates economic growth and job creation within the community.
As Penrith positions itself as the gateway to Western Sydney International Airport, iFLY’s NSW Tourism Award serves as a powerful endorsement of the region's credentials as a tourist destination.
