Council wins two NGAA awards

Penrith Council received two awards and a commendation for leadership at the recent annual congress of the National Growth Area Alliance (NGAA) in the City of Swan in Western Australia.

Signing of the formal partnership to extend the Penrith Health Action Plan

Council’s Community and Cultural Development team received the Partnerships – Building Connections award for the Penrith Health Action Plan. This collaboration between Council, the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, the Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network, and the Greater Western Aboriginal Health Service aims to improve the health and wellbeing outcomes of our residents.

The Advocacy Award was received by the Economic Initiatives department. Council’s Advocacy Strategy has been used to develop successful campaigns that support compelling evidence for why more infrastructure is needed in Penrith.

Economic Initiatives Manager Nathan Burbridge was highly commended in the Leadership in Growth Areas award category. Nathan’s leadership has been demonstrated through his role on the Executive Committee of the NGAA.
