New commercial developments on the drawing board for Penrith

Applications for several new commercial developments have been submitted to Council in recent weeks, signalling the confidence in the future of the New West.

The $15 million project will include 41 residential apartments and ground floor commercial space with potential to accommodate up to eight tenancies suited to retail or office use.

Another recent application is for proposed industrial units in Jamisontown from Stimson Urban & Regional Planning. If approved, the units will house light industrial businesses on the site which adjoins other commercial properties.

Hamptons Property Services has submitted a subdivision proposal on Blaike Road in Jamisontown on behalf of local company Levadetes Property Group. The proposal would see the current 2.5 hectare site subdivided into 5 torrens title lots and the creation of a public road. If approved, the development would allow for a mix of industrial, business, and warehouse uses on the site but does not include the construction of these buildings.

The assessment of each of these proposals is underway.
