Scentre Group, the owner of Westfield Penrith, has submitted a proposal to create a new entertainment centre in the Riley Street dining precinct.
The development application (DA) submitted earlier this month, proposes to reconfigure the façade on the corner of Jane and Riley Streets and change the use of the rear portion of an existing tenancy to provide for an entertainment and amusement centre. The facility is intended to comprise of a licensed bar, dining areas, amusement games and entertainment facilities. A detailed internal fit out did not form part of the application.
According to the DA, the $9 million project seeks to respond to “a growing demand for entertainment and recreational uses within the Penrith CBD and enhance the existing late night trading options.”
Council has received the application and the assessment is underway.
