Korean and Australian relations continue to strengthen as the two nations commemorate 60 years of diplomatic ties. Australia and Korea established full diplomatic relations in 1961.
Additionally, on 9 December 1994 Penrith City signed a Mutual Cooperation Agreement with the Gangseo-gu district of Seoul. Over the years, activities have included Civic and formal occasions including flag raising ceremonies, meetings and seminars and delegatory trips to both cities. To commemorate both anniversaries this year, you are invited to view an online exhibition highlighting the history and relationship Australia has with Korea.
