Penrith City Council is calling for feedback on its draft Community Safety Plan 2023-2027 from Monday 18 September to Sunday 29 October 2023.
The plan responds to community and stakeholder consultation completed last year across three priority areas including building a thriving community, creating safe and welcoming public spaces and developing partnerships for safe communities.
Penrith Mayor Todd Carney says that Council is committed to building, maintaining and promoting Penrith as a safe, vibrant and welcoming community.
“Through the development of our draft Community Safety Plan 2023-2027, we hope to ensure a safe and thriving community into the future. We want people to be – and to feel – safe, no matter where they are or what they’re doing across our City,” Cr Carney said.
“It's important that residents, people living in neighbourhoods across Penrith, have a say about this plan. We want to hear from everyone across the community to help us plan our work for greater safety in our community and at home.”
Building on the foundations of Penrith’s Community Safety Plan 2018-2022 and previous Community Safety Plans, Penrith City Council has developed the Community Safety Plan 2023-2027 to capture and respond to the local data, stories, experiences and needs of the community.
Residents are invited to have their say on the draft Community Safety Plan 2023-2027 at yoursaypenrith.com.au/communitysafetyplan before submissions close at 5pm, Sunday 29 October 2023.
