Home solar information night

Mayor Cr Ross Fowler OAM shows off solar panels

Thursday, 14 November 2019

Penrith City Council is holding a home solar information night so residents can get impartial advice and information about the best systems for their properties.

“There are many different systems and solutions and we have found residents are getting confused by the sales pitches,” said Penrith City Mayor Ross Fowler OAM.

“Penrith City Council is keen to encourage its residents to decrease their reliance on services that produce greenhouse gases and to reduce their environmental footprint.

“In line with its own commitment to save energy across its facilities, Council is encouraging residents to explore the advantages of installing solar electricity arrays on their properties,” he said.

In line with this objective, a free Home Solar Night is being staged in the Penrith City Library on 20 November 2019 from 6.30pm to 8pm.

Councillor Fowler said it’s a great opportunity for Penrith residents to learn how to reduce household energy bills and save money without having to filter sales pitches from solar array providers.

“The presentation is led by an impartial, accredited expert who will provide objective information about home solar arrays and battery systems,” he said.

“The presentation will also contain energy saving tips, which both save money and reduce the household energy consumption – which is great for the environment.
