The transformation of the Penrith City Centre into a vibrant place to live, work and play took a step closer today with the sod turning at the East Side Quarter at Panthers.
East Side Quarter is another bold and innovative development that's transforming our City, bringing with it significant positive change for Penrith as we move into the future.
Penrith Mayor, Ross Fowler OAM said we are immensely proud of Panthers and their contribution to our City, particularly their sporting achievements that profiles our City to a national audience.
But less recognised is what they are doing on the development front to positively transform Penrith," said Cr Fowler
"It is wonderful to know that in less than a decade, this site will hold, a convention centre, a senior living precinct, a vast food and dining offer, tourism facilities, elite training centres, community facilities and hotels.
"All in a magnificent parkland setting with connections to our beautiful river.
And from today we will see the start of the development of a whole new living village made up of apartments - all architecturally elegant.
"This is the kind of development our city and our community want - development that positively adds to the attraction, appeal and the brand of our city, "said Cr Fowler.
Panthers, the CABE group and Astina are setting a high benchmark for apartment living in the Penrith City Centre and for this Penrith Council thanks them.
Our City is entering a period of unprecedented growth and progress, and the East Side Quarter sits perfectly within Council's vision for Penrith as a vibrant, sustainable and highly liveable City.
