Sydney Science Park on exhibition

A planning proposal for Sydney Science Park is currently on public exhibition.

The Sydney Science Park, a proposal that would see 12,000 jobs created, 3,400 dwellings built and attract the world's leading scientific professionals and organisations to our doorstep is currently on public exhibition for rezoning.

Penrith Mayor Karen McKeown said: "Along with the major infrastructure commitments recently announced by the Federal and State governments for roads and rail, the Science Park will be a catalyst for high quality development in the Western Sydney Priority Growth Area.

"The rezoning would unlock land at Luddenham for high quality development and the creation of much sought after knowledge employment.

"Increasing jobs, particularly high-end knowledge jobs in the City is a planning priority for Council," Cr McKeown said.

"The development fits Council's vision for the region's growth. The New West in an era of ongoing prosperity and a future that has good roads, transport and quality jobs and support for the people who choose to live, work and play here.

"Without a doubt, the proposed Park is one of the most exciting developments slated for Penrith in recent years."

Sydney Science Park will be a 280 hectare master planned centre for research, development and education in the food security, energy and health sectors and will have quality residential, educational and retail offerings.

Copies of the proposal are available to view at the Civic Centre, St Marys office, Penrith and St Marys Library, and online at yoursaypenrith.com.au. Submissions can be made from now until 14 December 2015.
